... to encourage bloggers to ditch word verification (captcha). I lost it a year ago and haven't had a problem with spam comments. WV slows down the commenting process.
Just go into your settings and switch it off. I will comment more if you do.
I like captcha. I probably would comment more if it wasn't there, but personally I think having something somewhat irritating like that helps you think about whether you really want to comment.
* more in percentage rather than absolute terms. Or else, like the Crusaders, you'll be away for a long time looking after this cause ;-)

ReplyDeleteI ditched it two years ago, and brought it back 2 months ago 2 months ago.
ReplyDeleteI got a stack of spam -- but it took about 20 months to come.
I don't like word verification, and it turns me off commenting.
