I like the background, font and layout. You might need to increase the contrast (ie have a darker coulour) for the headings and links - it is a little hard to read even without presbyopia!
I'm with Katherine - it is too light (and girly).
I don't think this design will survive 24 hours...
It reminds me of the spare room that I used to stay in at my grandparents when I was 10.It was a nice wallpapered room. And the cups of tea and breakfast in bed that they brought me were nice.But you need something sharper and bolder to carry your narrative.

Agree with the "needs more contrast" comment. Not sure I'm convinced on the wallpaper either.
I like it apart from the contrast issues. But I read most of your comments on Google Reader and only jump over here to comment.
