In a black out...

1. Sit at the piano (in the dark) and play Be Thou My Vision.

2. Decide that D (the key in which you usually play it) is unsuited to black out moods.

3. Play it in Bb - an appropriate blackout key.

4. Just for fun, try to play it in all the different keys.

  1. I like this. And I wish I was even half that good at piano.

  2. Em7 is the guitar chord for blackouts. Dark, but beautiful.

  3. In a black out...
    1. Sit at the computer (in the dark)
    2. Decide that it would still be fun to hit the keys
    3. Realise you can't blog without electricity
    4. Just for fun, keep hitting all the keys and will the power to come back on.

  5. Ben - Em7 is lovely - all the chords in D are... but I felt in a blackout you need the more velvety tones of a flat key. Ab though and even Eb aren't really soft enough. Bb is perfect.

Maso - I'm not a great pianist at all, but I get chords and can transpose. Mathematical exercise.

Isaac - that is so sad. Even sadder that I thought about it.

Nathan - Nathan. Nathan. [My Nathan is laughing. But he's 9.]
