Funny, I have a similar horror experience with Jetstar. When we were living overseas we came back to Oz twice a year on leave. Our first trip back we flew into Cairns, drove to Townsville, flew to Brisbane, then flew back to Cairns to fly out. All good except the Brisbane to Cairns bit, where our flight time was changed TWICE in the six weeks or so between booking and flying. So now, instead of getting into Cairns around lunchtime, we were due to arrive around 8pm. But then the flight was LATE on the night we actually flew and we didn't end up getting to our hotel until after 9:30. Fortunately the restaurant didn't close until 10, so we did actually manage to eat that night. No apologies of any form from Jetstar.
But they are nothing, really, compared to Air Niugini.

i gave them a second and third chance, but refuse to fly with them anymore.
