favourite love story

We started Ruth today in our bible study group.

Being a new year and all, a get-to-know-you game was needed. Because Ruth is a love story, our GTKYG was this:

Tell us, what is your all-time favourite love story (book, film, tv, whatever) and why?

I think our answers were fairly revealing.

So, what's your favourite love story?

[guys, don't answer.]

  1. Hmm, toughie but here are some of my favourites (not sure if I have an 'all time greatest hit' - have to think on that some more).
Phantom of the Opera; Dracula; Hunchback of Notre Dame - possibly because they all have elements of redemption & / or forgiveness in them, even if the forgiven doesn't realise it.
The Sixth Sense - saw that by myself and while a bit 'hairs on the back of the neck - raising' I ended up thinking of it as a story about how we love others more than being a 'ghost' story.
Oh, and definitely not the movie "Ghost". :-)

  3. Movie: Emma She does some stupid stuff and he gets mad that she does. but they get together in the end.

TV: Josh & Donna from The West Wing. This was my first "ship" in tv land. And they took soooooo long to actually get together.

  4. We had first night of small group tonight too. But our get-to-know-you question was: "what was your worst ever injury?" We got some suitably gory answers.

P.S. Melissa what about CJ and the secret service agent? (Season 4 ... I think) He gets killed in the convenience store hold up. It's moving stuff.

  5. Guys guys guys!

You'll never understand the women and romance thing till you understand that it's all about how long its dragged out for. Josh and Donna is the classic. We were kept waiting for 7 whole series! CJ and the ss guy started too fast and was over too fast (a bullet will do that). CJ and the journalist guy... now that has more potential.

Emma came up in our group too. Every girl wants to marry a man able to tell her off. (But after we're married we hate it when they do!)

Worst injury ever? Ew. Hope it was a guys group.

Laetitia- I'm noticing a theme here...

    Ben - !
