love like houses

who needs a mansion
when dreams within
these four walls
are just as sweet?

who fears tomorrow
when today walks forward
so proudly?

who feels the cold
when held within a heart's core?

love like houses holds me.
warm caresses close my eyes

and I sleep.

  1. thanks.

I'm trying to write a set of poems on different aspects of married love. In this one I'm thinking gentle contentment and settledness.

  2. oohh...one of your married-people songs. Sounds great. I think contentment and settledness are great things to sing about (and aspire to possess).
