He listed them in this order. Note the things not on the list. He was struggling to find 20 foods that he likes. If it's not on the list, chances are he doesn't like it.

6. White Bread

Muesli is a recent discovery. He eats it for breakfast and afternoon tea.
I reckon fish fingers and custard a la Dr Who is worth trying. I'm going to.
ReplyDeleteBut I can see that that list would make cooking slightly difficult for you.
He does actually like custard. So long as it's cold. I could try that.
ReplyDeleteDo you make him eat other stuff anyway? Hot chips or the crisp variety?
ReplyDeleteYes. I make him eat everything - except cakes and sweet biscuits and lollies etc! He struggles alot with cooked pumpkin but will eat a little.
ReplyDeleteAny chip is good (though rarely on offer.)
Yeah, muesli's good - does he have a preferred brand?
ReplyDeleteDon't know what brand we get. I've chucked the package. Basic toasted stuff.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any comfort Jack probably only eats ten of those. He has started to expand palate when he cooks his own food. K
ReplyDeleteGood on him. I eat museli for lunch at work.
ReplyDeleteNot seeing a lot of red meat in there, apart from sausages. May need to bring in some iron supplements.
My cousins visited us from Scotland when we were kids. One of my cousins only ate cheese and tomato saunce sandwiches. Only. He would have had 19 blank spaces on such a list. He had cheese and tomato sauce sandwiches for christmas lunch while we ate roast turkey and ham. He is now in his late 20s and is generally healthy.
ReplyDeleteBen would also struggle with listing 20 foods he likes to eat, but for the total opposite reason - he likes way to many different foods, he wouldn't be able to limit it to 20!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to see a couple of more mature foods on Micah's list, Naan bread and pistachio nuts, not just all normal kiddy foods.
Ben - bah, humbug. Where do you think cows get it from? You don't see them eating iron tablets. And before you say that you don't see humans eating grass, grass is just another green leafy vegetable - try it. :-)
ReplyDeleteMel - no lollies or chocolates, though!
ReplyDeleteMaso - cheese and tomato sauce - yuk!
Laetitia - He's not so keen on leafy greens! He will eat cucumber though, and a lot of it.
Ben - he does eat red meat. We can force feed him just about any non-sweet, non-sloppy thing.
It's probably a sign of being gifted and talented.
ReplyDeleteI was the same! I hated honey and cheese as a child and never liked anything mixed or hot and spicy. I finally succumbed to Avocado at my 21st and haven't looked back on my expanded palate since.
I love how any annoying thing your kid does can be put down to them being G&T!
ReplyDeleteAvocado is a gift from God.
