That's really sad. Hope they can track down who's responsible. Was the music stuff okay? Did you see/hear anything? You live close by, do I have that right?
That is painfully sad. This sort of thing really rips at the heart of a community. But it can also galvanise a community as well. Good opportunities for real, lasting conversations. But at the heart of it, it is just plain sad. Mx
Arrgh Simone - how disappointing! I'd be devastated if something like this happened to our little school. As Meredith said - hope it leads to some helpful chats as people deal with the disappointment.
He wasn't talking demountables, but I got the feeling that a big part of his job is to say things to make people feel better. Truth may be a casualty.
Politicians were on tv tonight promising us all sorts of things - 'No expense spared' etc. It helps to be in a high socioeconomic marginal electorate a few months out from a state govt election.
It also helps that we've got a very good architect in our school community who had already drawn up plans for a redevelopment of that part of our school that was to take place slowly over the next 5 years. He's redrawing his plans tonight.
What? Just now?! Yikes. It's hard to see from the photo how much damage there is... Good thing it's holidays I guess.
ReplyDeleteLast night.
ReplyDeleteAll admin areas destroyed plus a few classrooms.
Who would do this?

We live really close and somehow heard nothing.
ReplyDeleteMy music stuff is all safe, but I'm worried that I'll lose my classroom to house the kids who the fire displaced.
The Q-build guy reckons they'll have it all fixed by Jan 16. I doubt it.
He sounds optimistic...
ReplyDeleteSorry, in my previous comment I assumed it was arson. Might not have been, I guess. It's awful to think people can do this kind of thing.
It was certainly arson.
ReplyDeleteVery sad...so much is lost when this happens...
ReplyDeleteThat sucks
ReplyDeleteNoooooo! The madness of some people astounds me.

ReplyDeleteThat's very sad, Simone.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Q-build guy is relying on demountables to solve the problem in the short term?

That's a very sad event Simone, much sympathy.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. I hope they catch who did it. Praying that the school can be rebuilt very, very quickly and that relationships in the school will grow.
